These two songs have been on my heart today, as I pray for our city. In the midst of the brokenness, the poverty, the hurt, there is light in the darkness; there is hope; there is GOOD news. I've been praying that God would open my eyes that I may see where He is at work, that I may see those around me, that I may love as He loves.
You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You are
You're the light in this darkness
You're the hope to the hopeless
You're the peace to the restless
You are
Greater things have yet to come
Greater things have still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come
Greater things have still to be done in this city
- Bluetree, God Of This City

Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity.
Give me your arms for the broken-hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see.

From the Album What If We
"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'" – Matthew 9:37-38
"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you. Pray to the Lord for it, because as it prospers, you, too, will prosper." - Jeremiah 29:7
About The 29 Day Challenge
As part of a series of messages on praying, Pastor Dan Yeary recently challenged us to set aside the next 29 days to pray faithfully and to intentionally seek God’s will for our lives and our church. As we continue to seek a pastor, we are praying for God’s direction & favor for our pastor search committee and that God would meet us, individually and collectively, at the place of our deepest need. I have committed to the 29 day challenge, to pray daily with my church and to seek out how I can more fully join in His work in the coming year. I plan to capture the journey and share some of my reflections along the way. Visit the full 29 Day Challenge series here.
